2007/09 Girls

Doug Estrada coached the 95 girls NWA Lightning team to seven consecutive Arkansas State Titles, several State League Titles, one Region 3 Title and five Region 3 appearances. Twelve players from that team advanced to college soccer. In a field of 195 teams, Coach Estrada led our 03 Prodigy Boys to an impressive 17th place finish at the Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden in July of 2018. He also led this team to Prodigy's first Arkansas State Title in November 2018. Coach Estrada currently holds a US Soccer C license. As Bentonville FC's Director of Coaching, Coach Estrada brings a rich background of experience in developing, motivating, and administering highly successful soccer players, teams and programs.

BOYS TEAMS

Julio Ayala
Julio Ayala
2007 & 2009 Boys

Coach Julio is our 2007 and 2009 boys head coach and has been with Prodigy since its creation in 2017. He currently holds a US Soccer D license. He has served as assistant coach for the 2005 Boys and as a long-time goalkeeper coach, helping lead teams to four consecutive state finals and three championships. Julio is also the varsity assistant coach at Har-Ber High School, where he played all four years. A lifelong goalkeeper, Julio was a 2011 USSSA National Champion, 2010 runner-up, and three-time state champion.

Coach Sam is the head coach for our 2010 Boys team.

Carlos Chicas
Carlos Chicas
2011 Boys

Coach Chicas leads two of our 2011 Boys teams and has been with Prodigy since its early years. He is also an assistant coach for NPSL’s Ozark FC and has coached with FC United, Arkansas Comets, and Sporting Arkansas. He holds a NSCAA Premier Diploma (equivalent to a USSF A License) and a US Youth National Goalkeeping License. A former professional player and longtime broadcaster, Carlos brings elite soccer knowledge and infectious energy to his teams. His honors include three Arkansas State Championships and national-level tournament success.

Rick Ternes

2012 Boys

Coach Rick is the head coach of the 2012/13 Boys and has been with Prodigy since 2019. He teaches and coaches at Bentonville High School, serving as an assistant varsity coach and head coach of the JV and freshman teams. Previously, he coached at Fayetteville High School for nine years. Originally from Illinois, Rick captained his high school team to a state title and played college soccer at Francis Marion and UIC. He holds a USSF D License.

Coach David is a Northwest Arkansas native who brings a strong understanding of the game and a deep commitment to developing young talent. He coaches our 2014 Boys team with a focus on growing confident, skillful, and dynamic players. His passion for the sport and steady leadership create an environment where players can thrive and love the game.

Taylor Wood
Taylor Wood
2014 Girls

Coach Taylor joined Prodigy in 2023 and now brings over 13 years of coaching experience along with a USSF C License. He coaches our 12/13 Girls and 14/15 Girls teams. Coach Taylor is passionate about developing players and helping them fall in love with the game. One of the highlights of his coaching career was leading Warren High School to the 2018 4A State Championship.
