Doug Estrada


Doug Estrada

Doug Estrada coached the 95 girls NWA Lightning team to seven consecutive Arkansas State Titles, several State League Titles, on Region 3 Title and five Region 3 appearances. Twelve players from that team advanced to college soccer. In a field of 195 teams, Coach Estrada led hate 03 Prodigy Boys to an impressive 17th place finish at the Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden in July of 2018. He also led this team to Prodigy's first Arkansas State Title in November 2018. Coach Estrada currently holds a US Soccer C license. As Bentonville FC's Director of Coaching, Coach Estrada brings a rich background of experience in developing, motivating, and administering highly successful soccer players, teams and programs.

Carlos Chicas



Carlos Chicas

The Head Coach for our '05 & '11 Boys, Coach Chicas, is also on the staff as an Assistant Coach  for the NPSL team Ozark FC since 2018.   Before joining Bentonville Prodigy,  Carlos previously coached for FC United, Arkansas Comets, and Sporting Arkansas club teams.  Carlos holds a NSCAA Premier Diploma (Equivalent to a USSF A License) and a US  Youth National Goal Keeping License. Coach Chicas is a local sports broadcaster and personality on latin radio and TV stations, and he has a long soccer history. He earned his Masters Degree from John Brown University where he is also a play by play announcer for soccer.   As a former professional soccer player, Coach Chicas delivers a wealth of soccer knowledge, skills, and tactics to our boys. Some of his achievements as coach are 2018, 2019, 2020 Arkansas State Champion, 2010 USSSA National Champion Runner-Up, and 2011 USSSA National Champion. 

Meagan Johnson



Meagan Johnson

Meagan Johnson was a member of the NWA Lightning team that won 7 straight Arkansas State Championships and racked up numerous Region 3 appearances and victories.  Meagan competed for Rogers High School and was named to the 7A All State Team in 2011, 2012, and 2013.  Meagan completed her Masters Degree in Education at the University of Arkansas, and is currently teaching and Varsity soccer coach at Heritage High School in Rogers, AR. Coach Johnson currently holds a U.S Soccer National D license. As the head coach for the 06 girls, Meagan brings a great mind for the game, knowledge of team tactics, and an intensely competitive spirit to our Prodigy girls.

Rick Terens




Rick Terens


As head coach of the 2012/13 boys, Coach Ternes has been with Prodigy for 5 years. Since 2016, he has served as the assistant coach for Varsity while coaching the Junior Varsity and now the 9th grade team. Before arriving at BHS, Coach Ternes had a nine-year tenure at Fayetteville High School from 2007 to 2016 as a coach and athletic trainer. Coach Ternes grew up on Palatine, Illinois where he played as a defense/attacking midfielder in high school and won the Illinois state championship in 1994. Coach then attended and played soccer at both D1 and D2 schools, Francis Marion University and the University of Illinois-Chicago. 

Julio Ayala



Julio Ayala

Coach Julio is our 08/09 boys head coach and has been with Prodigy since it’s creation in 2017 and currently holds a US Soccer D license. He has held various roles including the assistant coach for our 2005 Boys team and goalkeeper coach for many years where he helped Coach Chicas lead them to 4 back-to-back state finals and 3 back-to-back state championships.   He is also currently the boys’ varsity assistant coach at Har-Ber High School where he also attended and played all 4 years of high school. Coach Julio has been playing since he was 3 and has a strong passion for developing players and teaching the art of goalkeeping, as that is where he excelled. In his career he was a 2011 USSSA National Champion, 2010 USSSA National Champion runner-up, and won 3 state championships with his travel club. 

Matheus Alves



Matheus Alves

Coach Matheus has been with Prodigy for year and coaches both our 2010 boys’ team and 2008/2009 girls’ teams. He is originally from Brazil and has been playing soccer his entire life. In his youth, he played for 2 prominent Brazilian clubs, Vasco, and Flamengo. After moving to the United States, he played at both the D1 & D2 levels. Post college graduation he also played professionally in the USL and NPSL leagues. He brings a load of experience and knows the technical and tactical skills needed to get players to the next level.

Taylor Wood



Taylor Wood

Coach Taylor is our newest face to the Prodigy family has come with 12 years coaching experience and a National US Soccer D License. He is the head coach for our 12/13 girls & 14/15 girls’ teams. Coach Taylor has a passion to see players develop and fall in love with the game. One of his major accomplishments as a head coach has been coaching Warren High School to a 2018 4A State Championship.
